Tiebreaker comps

I won a fabulous holiday of a lifetime prize a few years ago. It was an all inclusive Clubmed family holiday to Moorea in the South Pacific. This is an island close to Tahiti and Bora Bora.
The competition was sponsored by Colgate toothpaste and in order to win this holiday to Godzilla's birthplace the question was "Why would Godzilla clean his teeth with Colgate toothpaste?"
My winning tie breaker was ...."brushing with Colgate every day gives healthy teeth to eat his prey."
I couldn't believe it when the letter arrived saying I'd won! We had a fantastic time in a place we would never have dreamed of going. In fact I think I'll make more of an effort now to enter them again - it's too easy to think up excuses not to!
Good luck to anyone who's willing to give them a go. They undoubtably get far fewer entries than prize draws so the chances of winning are definitely higher.0 -
I used to enter quite a lot of comps and even won quite a few. I've yet to win a tie-breaker one though. Having said that, in theory at least, you've more chance of winning a slogan type comp because a lot of people don't bother to enter. Recently I had to collect receipts for 3 proofs of purchase AND write a tie-breaker. I'm hoping that a lot of people wouldn't have bothered because of all the trouble - and that my slogan was good enough to win!! I'll let you know if I do - it was for a car.Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever - Mahatma Gandhi0
