Promoters checking where you surfed from nightmare.

I know this is in the wrong place but I am traumatised this morning, I had a nightmare last night that everyone on MSE was being disqualified by companies (DONT LAUGH!! :rotfl:) because we were opening links direct from MSE.

I woke up really paranoid, as I open links direct from MSE to enter, and wondered just how many other people copy and paste links incase this really happens.

I never copy and paste I always go straight from here. Perhaps I shouldn't!

I mostly go straight there, unless op say's not to, and I have won quite a few things, so not sure it matters?

Hehehe :rotfl: promise I'm not laughing at you I have had many dreams to do with comping since I started it becomes such a big part of your life!

I do know what you mean with the paranoia about companies knowing where you have come from though..I always copy and paste the links for this reason on a "just in case" it matters!

Up until recently the only ones that I would open a direct link on were Facebook and Twitter links..but even those I copy and paste too!

Another one I'm not to sure of is when a site asks you how you found the competition..I never am sure what to put so I just say google! again just in case it matters!Lol

Awww bless! Surely promoters can't mind that much, at least MSE is taking us to their page thus promoting their page! Who knows you may get interested in the site and have a look round! After all competitions are meant to promote companies and that's what MSE Comp Forum does!

Hope you don't have anymore nightmares!

It's true you can get disqualified from entering from here, although it is the minority of comps. I tend to paste into the browser rather than click the link but yes the promoter can see if you came from hee or not, if they know how to check that that is lol

If you use Firefox, you can drag the link to the tabs bar and it won't show the referral details if you do it that way. I've been comping that way since I read the tip on here last year!
You can also install an add on that gives you the option to hide referral info for certain sites.

Thank you all for the replies, I blame the weather for the nightmares - its just so hot!

Funny how comping has grown to be so pleasureable, even a nightmare was fun! I love my hobby.
