new flat that has been rented out previously

We just bought a flat and moved in a few days ago. We were not told that it had been previosly rented out. they told us that the floors and blinds were already put in as they were about to sell it but the sale didn't go through. When we moved in i found that the laundry (due to powder residue), dishwasher and oven had been used and not cleaned fully. This is not what brand new stuff looks like. I told the developers and they said that the builders might have used the oven and the laundry had to be tested so maybe thats why the powder was there. All evidence is pointing to the fact that it was let out previously. What rights do I have in regards to this as I specifically wanted a brand new flat that had not been lived in before and that is what I thought I was getting and that's how I was sold it. I am so angry!!
