Insurance for a month?

Hi there
We are in the last stages of buying a house, just waiting for a date now. We are currently in rented and so we have contents insurance. This is up for renewal on 14th August.
We won't have left by then but I don't want to pay for a whole year and not be able to cancel.
Does anyone do insurance for a month?
Thank you for any help

Would it be possible to transfer the insurance to the new property when you move rather than cancelling?0

On their website they won't insure that postcode, no idea why as everyone else will0

But would you be able to start insurance at your current property and then move it over if you went with someone else?0

Oh yes possibly! That must have been a blonde moment, I hadn't even thought of going with someone else! It means I would lose my buildings and contents deal as I'll only be able to do contents at the min but at least I'll be insured everywhere! Thank you!0

I'd have a chat with the insurance company - I wonder if they might be able to sort it out for you when you move so that you can have combined buildings/contents insurance if you want. Worth asking what deal they might be able to do!0

I've recently had the same problem, and went with Co-operative insurance for contents.
Unlike others they don't charge a cancellation fee, and only charge you a percentage of your premium for the time you have being on cover. So I ended up paying £25 for 3 months cover instead of a typical £25 with someone else with a £50 cancellation fee on top.0 -
When we moved last we were covered by our insurance for the property we were moving from and the one we were moving too for a period of time (2 weeks I think). Is this an option worth looking into?0
