Lapland

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a travel agent/company that specializes in Lapland or indeed if any of the travel agents that use the site can help us out with prices for a trip.

There will be 7 of us all together 4adults 3children the ages of the children are 7,5 &3. We ould like to go for 2-3 nights and would like to go from Doncaster, E.Mids or Humberside ideally. We would like a package that could include a lot of the activities ie: sleigh ride, meet and great ect but don't want it to feel like a conveur belt which I am told it is sometimes like. We would like to go between the dates of 19th-22nd of December if possible.

Thanks,

Pete.

    Thanks or that guys.

    Incapuppy,

I realise that the search facility is a wonderfull thing but with us knowing what dates and things we required I thought one of the travel agent on here might be able to sort us a price out.

    Thanks,

    Pete.

    ah, my fav subject ;)

most of the 'santa' breaks can be rushed and packed, they are also really expensive

so, if you want to have a package santa break then look at companies such as espirt and also activities abroad - they can give you the whole package without the herding

the other option, which is the one I prefer, is to go with one of the ski companies such as inghams, crystal ski or neilsen ski and go for a week break and then get your activities booked either locally or with the tour op, also, if you want to go for a shorter time, then inghams do a santa break which is really good value

you will find that you are going at the most expensive time and if you go on a santa break with all in you are looking at at least a £1000 each but you might be lucky to get a child free (if there is such a thing)

at the end of the day you have to do your homework as a lot of companies have a really bad reputation and whilst there are always good and bad reviews for every company, some more than others have really bad reviews, I would suggest you check out the lapland pages on tripadvisor as it is full of lots of tips

I've been looking at a Lapland break too, the dates the travel companies go are Sunday for 3 nights or Wed for 4 nights.

Cheapest companies I found were First Choice and Inghams however Inghams excursions were half the price of First Choice.

I eventually booked Inghams for about £1500 half board for 2a & 1ch

Hi and thankyou all for taking the time to post replies and for the info. We have however decided to revert the the original plan and go next year. So we will have plenty of time to save for the activities abroad or Espirit package although I do like the idea of a week with Inghams and incorporating some skiing in too. Although from what I hear we may need to rob a bank for a weeks spending money in Lapland
