Bookings.com problems

Hi I'm having problems with bookings.com and was wondering if anyone could help.

I recently booked accommodation through bookings.com using my partner's account, but used my own credit card as security. When I arrived at the hotel we checked in under my partner's name and I asked if it would be ok to pay with a prepaid card, rather than my credit card. The receptionist said this would be fine. When I returned home I realised I'd been charged twice, once on my prepaid card and once on my credit card.

The hotel and bookings.com have said as I booked the hotel under my partner's name but paid with my card I've been charged a fee for him not showing up. But he was there and we made the receptionist aware of this!

Sorry if this is turning in to a longwinded rant but after various emails and phone calls to bookings.com and the hotel I'm not getting anywhere. :mad:

I'd be really grateful if anyone could offer me any advice.

Thanks I'll try that. Bookings.com were helpful at first. I sent them evidence I'd been charged twice and they contacted the hotel. But they then advised me it was my fault as we'd booked the hotel using my partner's account but paid with my card. There's nothing on their website to say if you book using someone's account they then can only pay with their credit card. Can this be right?
