Wtd: Joint account with different Debit card numbers

Currently looking to open up a joint account that issues my wife and I with cards featuring different numbers.
A good internet banking experience would be preferable. I was looking to apply to firstdirect, but not sure if they offer this feature.
Also the card would need to be a visa-debit...and preferably easy to open online a la Alliance and Leicester.
If anyone can help I would be most grateful.
Many thanks
G

I am sure if I am wrong someone will soon correct me, but surely a joint account will have both debit cards with the same number, as the card number includes the account details. A card number with a different number would relate to a different account.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
I'm assuming when you say 'featuring different numbers' you mean the long 16 digit number? As far as I am aware every joint account I have with my wife gives both of us different 16 digit numbers but has the same account number and sort code.
We use Barclays for our main current account (I know I should switich) but that definately has the same account number but different 16 digit card numbers. We have used the cards online and the Barclays online banking is also good.
Hope this helpssomething missing0 -
Lloyds have different last 4 digits, and these are printed next to each transaction on the statement. Internet Banking's good, and they're VISA debit cards.0

Halifax similarly (as I suspect all do) issue cards with different numbers - but relating back to the same account. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

On Halifax cards the 16 digit pan numbers on the front are in relation to the card you use - when that one ends you get another with different numbers
The 16 digit pan has nothing to do with Halifax account numbers, as I know a lot of banks use this for their account numbers
with Halifax the sort code and account number appear at the bottom and the roll number beginning with D/ appears on the back0 -
Unfortunately, both A&L and First Direct issue two cards with identical numbers..0

Yeah A&L and First Direct were the ones I have experience with, and hence the OP. I didn't realise that most others do in fact offer different numbers on the card.
Many thanks to all replicants!
