Anyone tried Solar Powered Ant Repellers?

We have a major ant problem in our garden. Usually I am happy to leave well alone and am not in the habit of killing things (I can't even swot a fly!) but this really is spoiling our enjoyment of the garden. I have a baby we can't let crawl on the grass and my little girl is now terrified of all insects because the ants bite her so much. They are literally everywhere. You only need to stand still for a few seconds and they'll be crawling up your leg :( We have found and destroyed numerous nests full of eggs but it seems never ending.
I came across a solar ant repeller the other day which you stick in the ground and it causes vibrations which the ants do like. We have a long thin garden so would probably need a couple and before I fork out for them I wondered if anyone had tried them and could tell me they work!

have yuu some details on this ?

I have a similar problem and last weekend was horrendous where they spouted wings and the grass was crawling in red adn black ants
have tried ant powder, digging nests and powdering direct, bait traps, all with only limited success
finally have ordered some of this Nemasys NO ANTS! to give it a go but looking at other options should it fail

We tried the Nemasys stuff and it seemed to work. There were a good few weeks where we hardly saw any ants, but now we're back to square one. We can't really afford to be buying the Nemasys stuff every couple of months. I can't post links but if you google Solar Powered Ant Repeller it should come up, it's on the 'primrose' website. I also found another one, called Diamond Ant Guard which covers a much larger area, at a much larger price! I'd be more than happy to pay it if I knew it would work!
