bank charges can they put you over your agreed overdraft just b4 your benifit goes in

hi guys, can anyone help me.
my bank keeps, charging me say today tues when my benifit goes into my account weds & main goes in on friday every two weeks.
yesterday i had over £65 under my max overdraft left, then this morning they took £75.00 charges & ic = £20.00 & ic = £5.11 = £100.11 in charges putting me over my overdraft limit. then i forget about it till they take charges out next month.
this £100 is over 1 weeks money of my incapity is it leagal what the bank is doing to me putting me over my agreed overdraft limit when they know i am on benifits.
would be greatful for any help of what to do next ?????

open a post office account and get your benefits paid into this. Then the bank can't get hold of them.0

the bank isn't allowed to take charges from you benefits. There's a rule to quote to them which im sorry I cannot remember. Pop over to debt free board and post your post. Not only are they very friendly they will tell you what you need to do to stop this.Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

No they cant you need to ask the bank for the "first right of appropriation"
