Vauxhall Zafira - Spare wheel!
We bought our first ever new car in Sept 2006, a Vauxhall Zafira.
After only a couple of weeks we found that someone had stolen our spare wheel (its under the car)
Apparently this happens a lot and a simple K lock fitted as an extra would make this impossible (according to Vauxhall) But we were never told this by the salesperson!!!!!!!! Apparently the K lock is the only one which is thief proof!!
So now we have the expense not only of the lock fitting and getting a new wheel and tyre. I complained to vauxhall and they have given us £35 allowance, but still the rest of fitting it and the wheel and tyre is a lot of money.
So anyone who has one/ or thinking of getting one - get a K lock put on the spare, may save you a lot of money.

Thank you Albertross, I have looked at the site and posted. I am going to write to Vauxhall and try and get them to pay for the fitting as well.
Many thanks again.0 -
I bought a used zafira back in June from Network Q and had no problem persuading the sales person that the car needed a K-Lock fitting. He even got the head honcho from servicing to come and talk to me. When I found out that they were going to fit the cheaper plastic version I even managed to persuade them that only the all metal version would do. If they can do that with a secondhand car you should be able to persuade them to fit one to a new car - and replace the wheel also! - it is a design flaw after all. Unfortunately the service you get does seem to vary from dealer to dealer.
I think a letter to Vauxhall is the best way forward - bypass the dealer altogether. Good Luck.0
