I do not own a DAB radio as yet, but I think I heard a report on the radio the other day which stated that power consumption of a DAB radio is around 10 times that of a normal FM radio. Can this be correct?

DAB radios do consume more power at the moment, because they need more elecricery to decode the digital signal. The next generation chipsets will address this. A DAB radio will not make your lights dim though, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Get one with a mains lead if you can.. and check reception..

and be aware, that apart from Radio 3, many of the stations are lower quality than FM.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
A DAB radio will eat batteries so get one with a mains adapter or, if you get a portable invest in rechargable batteries.0
