I have TOMTOM UK and IE which came with my tomtom bought around 2006.

I am looking to buy the south western europe map as a download from the tomtom site. I just checked the space left on my tomtom and it's got only 97MB - is this sufficient for south europe map? I don't want to risky paying for this map only to find out there is no space to fit it on the tomtom. If it asks me to delete stuff, I wouldn't know which were safe to delete:o

Thanks you techie wizs :)

    if you input details here

should tell you lower down the page in MB's how big the maps are BEFORE you download

i wouldnt recommend it, unless you can see the file size when you download it, and/or can manually remove junk on the tom tom which you dont need (extra voices etc)

you have to remove the existing maps and install the new ones, I had to do this on my XL version. Go to my computer and copy the whole of the tomtom as a back up, then go to the maps folder and copy just the maps, also do a backup at tomtom home just in case. then delete, scarry the maps from the tomtom in my computer. Go to tomtom home and download the maps for Europe, then once you have finished using the maps copy the Europe ones to your computer and then copy the original maps back to the tomtom via my computer. (probably over backing up but worth it :) )

No good if you need both europe and UK maps at the same time, has to be a new tomtom get one with a sd card next time and it will save you all of this work. Done it loads of times on mine after been told how to do it by tomtom.
