Has anyone who have recently moved in - had any problems on completion??

Most completions go smoothly - you only hear of the horror stories.
The most common danger on completion is that the funds don't transfer promptly and you don't get access to your house until the next day.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Its pretty much always to do with the funds as solicitors, financiers, buyers and sellers all get stressed and stroppy. Completions are not set in stone as everybody tends to think so can stray beyond an agreed date. You are only offered the loss of interest as compensation..
In most cases it will all happen pretty much as agreed.0 -

Ive went to see my solictor yesterday and she was going on about the mortgage lender doing some "searches" before they release the money? I dont have a problem with this at all but i thought they already done these or do they do this again? any ideas??

this does sound odd - they would normally trust the solicitor to carry out the searches. Perhaps that's whats happening?
Anyway by the sounds of '5 days to completion' it may have already happened - I hope so - let us know0
