Another Cheque

Hi forum

Some weeks ago I posted about reclaimed PPI on an egg loan and how a cheque for £1,340.00 turned up as settlement.

I also had an egg credit card and contacted them to enquire about start dates etc. They were very helpful and confirmed that there was PPI on the card and my status was confirmed as self employed (as with the other loan). They suggested I put a claim in via email which I did that day (13th July). Within 5 days the usual confirmation letter arrived acknowledging my complaint and then low and behold a cheque arrived today for £8,327.00 in settlement for the card PPI!

Absolutely amazed at how quickly this has been processed and over the preverbial with the amount (I expected about 4k).

Excellent result.

What sort of balance was on the card (on average) and how many years was it held for?

Card was taken out in 2000 and consolidated into a personal loan around 2005/06 (not other loan mentioned in original post). Balance at the end was approx £14k.

Impressed with how egg dealt with this, just under three weeks from when complaint was sent via email.
