Hey, my laptop has been playing up for a long time now, screen hasn't worked sicne 8 months after i got it and the manufacturers basically ignored me after it needed repaired a 2nd time but this is a different issue, the battery now doesn't work and it switches itself off all the time like if i play a game that requires the graphics to, well exist at all, after about 15 minutes, anyway decided to replace it and get a desktop as altho i intended using the laptop outwith home i think i've had it outside once since getting it, anyway no diea why ive made this long spiel all i want to see is your opinion on this machine for some relatively serious gaming but not overly bothered about it needing to have the absolute crispest graphics the games are capable of. Although it claims to be great for gmaing the price doesn't seem like it ties in with such a system if it's that good?

I'd be wary of buying something this expensive from eBay - what kind of guarantee do you get?
The way that the listing is written would put me off for a start ("Window" instead of "Windows", "bramd new" etc.) - I'm not entirely convinced that you can argue that a 2.8GHz dual core is the same as having a 5.8GHz solo core chip.
If it were me, I'd steer clear of it, but that's just my perception.

"Intel Pentium D 820 2.8 GHZ Dual Core = 5.6 GHZ"
:rotfl:
The D 820 is a dual core, but that doesnt mean its the equlivent to 5.6Ghz!!
"XFX GeForce 7900GS 256MB DDR3 - 20 Pipes - SLI Ready - High End Card"
The card is SLI ready, but is the motherboard?
Really, for this money, £650, if you are not inclined to build your own, Id get something like a Dell E521 for £589 that comes with a 19' monitor."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0 -
I recently bought a Dell E521 and rate it. It's a desktop though, which I prefer.Happy chappy0

I'd love to build my own but the problem i have is a lack of knowledge, for example, power supplies seem to be a massive issue, i wouldn;t know much about that. Then the comment about the graphic card being SLI ready but is the motherboard? i wouldn;t know about that...then a general fear that i'll buy and create something that is actually rubbish. i think some of you guys were right though about not buying from ebay(or that seller based on the small things you said) as the item is now invalid(although this could have justbeenbecause he was using the alieware name in the title to get people to find his listing)Bought, not Brought0 -
Around 6 months ago Dell had a similiar system available for 599 pounds I believe!!0
