We Buy Homes Fast - scam?

Alot of hand-written signs have appeared in my town saying "We Buy Homes Fast" and "we pay full market rates", "any location, any condition", accompanied by a mobile phone number.
I'm assuming this is some sort of scam as I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would sell their greatest asset to someone who only advertises a mobile number on a cardboard notice attached to a streetsign.

Without knowing the names of any of these companies its hard to say if they are a scam.
I am sure there are quite a few that are out there, but one thing they certainly will not offer is 'full market value', it would be more like 65%-70%.
These sort of companies unfortuantely prey on the vunerable and naive.0 -
Sounds like the "We buy any car" routine. Just out of interest I checked what they'd give me for my last car - £50. I sold it privately for £500!
Factor that up for the cost of a house and you should get some idea of the amount they'd offer you!0 -
You get sucked in with seemingly attratctive offers, but have to pay an admin fee/valuation fee / call-it-what-you-will fee.
Then at the last minute the 'market value' is assessed far below your expectations and your choice is either accept this low offer (as gah says - 65%?) or lose the fee you've paid.0
