Hello
I'm new to this so if I'm in the wrong spot - please forgive.
I feel I must warn you all out there about a scam that happened to me prior to the Christmas period. My daughter wanted to order a Nintendo Wii for her boyfriend so we ordered one from a website called A V Village.
Big Mistake! Turned out to be a scam site - albeit a very professional scam site. You ordered as normal, they sent a confirmation etc etc then at a later date (about 2 days) an e-mail asking that you were on their list for one of the 500 Wii they had available but to ensure despatch they asked that the money was BACS or CHAPS to their account (HSBC). OH GOD NO! I am hearing you cry but yes it was done and at that point I waved goodbye to £159.00. The website has been 'suspended', the 'phone number is an ansaphone and the police have been called and are very interested.
If there is anyone else out there that was blinded by their wonderful, professional website and their busy call centre that rang you then sent their 'bona-fide' e-mail then please please RING THE POLICE AND HELP STOP THESE THEIVES FROM GETTING AWAY WITH THIS SCAM.
PLEASE DO IT NOW !!!!!! THE POLCE ARE VERY INTERESTED BUT NEED MORE PEOPLE TO COME FORWARD.

You will always find people on here asking about "NEW" websites. Its just a pity you werent on here before it happened or you could have asked... A lot of scams take advantage of christmas and hard to get items0

"I ordered a Nintendo Wii from AvVillage last night.
just had a phone call off them saying they can't take credit/debit
card payment from first time customers.
So can I transfer the payment instead.
This sounds very iffy to me and I'm not sure weather to proceed or
not.
Any advice appreciated

GO TO THE COPS IF YOU HAVE AN REPORT. MY LOCAL POLICE HAVE TAKEN THIS VERY SERIOUSLY AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF HELPING THEM. METROPOLITAN POLICE LAUNCHING INVESTIGATION. THERE ARE AT LEAST 8 POLICE FORCES IN THE UK DEALING WITH PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN SCAMMED - DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT BUT IF YOU ARE OF THEM GO TO THE COPS ASAP !0
