Admiral Car Insurance- Job description

hi guys,

I am doing a car insurance quote for my partner. She is a legal assistant, I have done the quote via money supermarket using the job title "legal assistant". The quote with Admiral then states the job description is "legal secretary" which is way different to her actual job title. I rang their customer services and they confirmed the job description of legal secretay. I advised her job is a legal assistant but the website does not give this option, his reply was "as long as you are happy with that then its ok" to which I said, as long as you are happy with what I have told you and he said ok! I just want to be sure this is ok, I have taken the name of the guy for reference but it seems odd when there are so many messages on their site saying if any details are inaccurate this could invalidate the policy. Am I being over paranoid?!

Also, it is quoting me £50 for when stating the car is in a private garage...can't quite work that one out?!

If you want to be sure you could write and confirm your conversation regarding the correct occupation. Send it recorded delivery and keep a copy on file should you need it in the future.
  • As long as it is about right then your fine but I would ask for written confirmation to be sure. For example, they don't have SCARDA engineer listed but accept engineer as it is close enough.

Some companies charge more for a garaged car as they can get claims for lots of accidental damage (things falling, garage door, scrapping walls).
