Surely any further contact, whether it be follow up questions, document checking or even the way in which you conduct expense claims is going to influence a potential employer's opinion of you? What about calling to confirm your application has been received to show your diligence, is that considered illegal?

I'd leave it. If it's a large organisation with potentially strong recruitment procedures, they're unlikely to take it into account, as to be 'fair' they will only ask everyone the same questions and take the same information from them. Plus, the emails are likely to go through to an admin team who will find answers, rather than interviewers who will remember you.

Either way, I'd see it as something that makes work for me, and potentially would make you seem desperate. I wouldn't do it; you've already said thank you. :)

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

There's nothing illegal/unlawful about canvassing, as far as I am aware, but many employers explicitly disqualify any applicant who indulges in it, to miantain a level playing field. All round probably best avoided.

Nah, small company and as I say, I am in contact with the manager who has twice encouraged questions so I can't imagine it being illegal or even immoral or unfair.
