Hi All!!
I am wondering if someone could help with a question i have...........
can you claim benefits when living with your parents?
I am 26 in full time employment (less than 13K a year) and have a variety of seperate bills and responsibilties, I have no children so its just me but as with everyone at the moment things are very tight and i didnt know if there was anything out there that could ease the squeeze just a little!!
thank you in advance!!

on 13k a year, you wouldnt be entitled to benefits as a single person.0
-
on £13k you may qualify for Working tax credits of £10 per year

i thought the cut off was about 11k for a single person?0

Its not up to the tax payers to pay your debts for you.
You are presumably paying 'board' to your parents, you must have thousands of pounds disposable income.
Cut your outgoing down, a lot.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I'd kill to earn just under £13k a year. Want to swap positions?Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

i'd agree with you, but i know that as soon as i do the OP will come back and say they've just had to move back in with parents because of x, y and z and left with huge debts etc after *enter tragedy here*....... so i'm just going to nod and agree silently.0 -
13k a year for a single person with no dependants is more than enough. There are people with children who are on less. You are in a fortunate position when you think about it, and the onky person you need to finance for is yourself. If you are struggling on 13k to do that, then if you do ever have children/house etc you are going to find it more than difficult to cope unless you begin to prioritise your finances from now.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

I could not live off 13k on my own in my own place.
But if I was living with parents then I definitely could. Unless they are charging you a huge amount for rent?0 -
IIRC the cut off point for single person is £12,500on £13k you may qualify for Working tax credits of £10 per year
