Oiled oak worktop. But is only 28mm. I'm not sure if this would look cheap & horrible in the kitchen. Can I have peoples thoughts on this please?
Big kitchen, aiming to have off white units. Also, not sure if 28mm worktop would be robust?? thanks in advance

Hi...we have used 38-40 mm oak with Ikea Adel white on a few properties....anything less does look at bit malnourished.;)

How you think it looks is a personal thing, worktops do seem to have got "beefier" in the last 20 years, but strength-wise, 28mm will be fine.
We have 28mm beech, in position 23 years now and still going strong.0 -
ok thanks one & all. Ya, think I'll hold out for the 40mm - keep saving :j0

There are some cheap 40mm tops on the net. I got mine from inigmadirect at a really good price. Therefore you may not have to save up for too long.
