WhiteStuff (shop!) order dispatched after TWO months

I'm really cross about this so need to vent some anger
I've just received a dispatch note from the company telling me that the items I ordered on the 5th of JUNE (!!!!) are now on their way. I remember browsing the site and trying to place the order but as no items arrived I assumed that I had not pressed confirm order.

Apparently the items were not dispatched as there was a glitch on their website. They have now been dispatched as the glitch has been fixed . The funds have been debited and I cant get a refund until the clothes are back with them. Apparently this can't be sorted out today even though the courier does not collect the parcels until after 6pm . It's possible that I may have to send the parcel back if it is dispatched before the customer services people start work tomorrow.

I phoned customer services and suggested that they should contact customers if the order was placed so long ago but I wondered if there was a UK law covering this ie distance selling? I have never had this happen with anyone else and have now closed my account with them. I'm cross and upset as I am signed off sick post major surgery and really have to watch my finances with two young children. I know this is only short term but I feel like I am being punished for their glitch.

If I am over reacting I apologise but now have an unexpected overdraft for a few days and no money to treat the kids
Trying to earn £2015 in 2015. Slightly early start ;). £175.88 today.

OK fine I am over reacting but according to the distance selling regulations the contract is treated as not existing if the goods are not delivered within 30 days. There was no record of the order on my account and no confirmation email. I still think the company should email customers after such a delay after all whats to stop them doing it any number of months after an order has been placed. VERY grumpy mummy :D
