Skiing in Zell am See

Hi

Have just booked our first skiing holiday

We are going to Zell am See in Austria.

Has anyone been there? Can anyone recommend a good ski school for beginners?

Any other must sees? Or recommended restaurants etc

You are sooo lucky! Haven't been there for a long time but remember it as being a beautiful resort - really charming! Nearly twenty years since I was there but look at it every year in the brochures...doesn't seem to have changed THAT much. We did go to Soll two years ago and agree that Austria is by far our favourite for skiing. Quality of instruction has always been excellent so I wouldn't worry too much. There isn't usually a great choice of ski schools, one or two tend to dominate each resort.

Who are you travelling with? The major tour operators usually offer beginners ski packs which are a good deal - equipment, lessons and passes all included. However, if you do really take to it you might have to upgrade the beginners pass to allow you round the rest of the ski area.
