I've some heavy duty week killing to do between now and next spring. The patch I have to clean up is extensive and covers several areas so I want to invest in a good knapsack sprayer. I've also got an extensive lawn area and would like to te able to spot weedkill there and perhaps apply liquid weed and feed.

I know little about sprayers as such and would be obliged for any advice.

Who are the leading makers in this field, best sprayers etc? Is there any place I can get an independent review? I want to buy one that will last so what price range am I'm effectively looking at?

I've had a look on the Which? website but can't find any reviews there, I've also had a look on Amazon to see what is available but I'm still none the wiser. Help me gain knowledge :D

I have a Matabi, which holds about 16 litres, but I never fill it beyond 10 because of weight issues (its weight, not mine!:p)
After using it well for a couple of seasons, it is still going fine. The current cost is around £50.

I believe Goizper sprayers use the same parts. Spares availability is important. I got my kit on-line from Agratech.

If you want to spend more, Cooper Pegler make sprayers which also have easy parts availability. You are looking at £100+ for the same sort of thing.

Only someone with professional experience would know which is the most comfortable sprayer, and I certainly don't, but I'm happy with the one I chose.

You will find Pro Green or Pitchcare useful for chemicals, but watch out for the bureaucracy police. ;)
