If it is upsetting you, it is upsetting your neighbours too - ask around to get a bit of support, then tell the store managerhe needs to get the alarm serviced today/tomorrow, or you're all going to stop using the store (guessing it is a small/local SM as opposed to big retail park type).

It always struck me that when people leave alarms blaring for hours overnight, it just makes the neighbours who can't sleep think "well I f****** hope you are burgled" after the first 30 minutes of sleepless night/disturbed baby/etc.

In true Sod's law style, Waitrose's alarm kept going off last night across the road from me. Grr!
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler
  • Thanks all for your suggestions.
I shall start keeping a diary with times and duration of alarm.

But yes, to whoever said I wish they would get burgled!

Thank you everyone who replied :T

I think this sort of thing just highlights how pointless audible alarms are on houses/shops etc - when they go off, generally nobody does anything for a good long while, rendering them fairly redundant.

Theres a house on my road with one that has been going off at 4am every few days over the last couple of weeks - rings for maybe 15 mins then goes off. Do we all rush out of our beds when it goes off to see if theres a problem/burglars/space men etc? no, we all lie in bed willing it to shut up.

An audible alarm on a supermarket that brings out the area manager after an hour or so is pretty pointless, by that time, if it was indeed a break in then they're long gone with all your stock.
