have you called Acer for advice? They may have a known issue which they can advise on...
  • checked their website and this model doesnt have any known problems. is it worth foning them, or will they say it is wear and tear.?
  • Call them, also post on the techie board to see if any experts there can advise.

    Good luck!

You need to get a fault report done before you can proceed.

No company will touch the laptop without a fault report.
  • I am waiting for a reply from an e mail to acer. then phone call if no joy. am i being unreasonable in expecting the machine to last longer than it has.!!!!! i will have to take it into my local shop for a report, but wanted to find out abt any( if at all ) rights i have.:(

Well you can send a letter/email and stating sale of good act 1979, Along with a fault report sheet. Product should last more than 2 year, My TV i bought in 2009 is broke and ebuyer wont touch help without a fault, but trying to get a 30kg tv about isn't worth it.

They will either try repair or if they cant offer a partial refund.
