Do you have older kids and a touring caravan?

We have a folding camper and you can extend the awning with sleeping extensions which would make it a very comfortable space for 8 easily
Statics are nice in theory but you have to be happy going back to the same site year in year out (which some enjoy I guess) and of course the site fees whioch puts you at mercy of owners - plenty of info about that on the internet if you seach.
Joys of a touring caravan or folding camper is you can go anywhere inc over to france and rest of Europe
Downside of bigger touring caravans are that they are big and heavy so you need a large car to tow safely. Plus side is you can camp most year round0 -
Thanks sunshine tours and natmummy, it sounds great, everyone replies sound so positive about caravanning. My lot are very attatched to their electronic gadgets and like their home comforts ( like me really!) but we love holidaying in this country especially devon where we are going on friday, in a a cottage courtesy of my parents. They do enjoy football, crabbing, going on the beach etc. I love the thought of being able to go away more often, and also the fact that the holiday itself costs maybe a couple of hundred in peak season and not a ridiculous amount.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

when the kids were small we never even took a tv, we used to play board games and cards. as they got older though they took every gadget known to man - me and dh used to sit in the awning with a drink and they sat inside on their laptops etc.
when they got bigger they went in the awning to sleep and then when they got to be "grown up" into pup tents, we used to leave our bed up all the time so it cut down on cushion shuffling at bedtime'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0
