How much spending money?

My Husband and I are going on an all inclusive holiday to Turkey for a week at the end of the month and I’m trying to work out how much money to take with us. As we’re unlikely to go back to Turkey anytime soon I don’t want to come home with an excess of their local currency.
As we’re all inclusive we shouldn’t really have any expenses whilst we’re over there and any extra can be added to our room I’m sure and we’ll pay by card. We’re also unlikely to leave the hotel – we’ve planned this to be a lazy, lie around the pool type holiday. As part of the package we also have transport to and from the airport so won’t need to pay for a taxi.
My thoughts are that we’ll only need a small amount of money for buying food and drink at the airport on the way back. I’m thinking of exchanging £40 to be on the safe side.

will you need anything for gifts or tips for hotel staff.we went all inclusive to turkey but did a few trips and an odd meal out.the shops in marmaris accepted english money. dalman airport was very expensive for food and drink, you will need to pay £10 when you enter turkey.0

Thanks for your response.
Is that £10 each and is that sterling rather than lira?
We probably won't do any trips.
No for gifts and hadn't really thought about tips to be honest. We've never done an all inlcusive holiday before so what's the tipping etiquette?0 -
Yes you need £10 sterling each as your "visa" to enter the country.
Most places will accept sterling or you can easily exchange over there for a better rate than you'd get here.
I tended to tip a couple of lira when I was there. Cleaners tend to pick up any change you leave lying around assuming it's a tip anyway

as jenando says £10 each for visa. got to be decent condition english note.we tipped the room cleaner, waiter at end of holiday. but to be honest the barmen were a nuiscance following us around making it obvious they wanted tipping, gave them £5 they wanted £10 so told them were to go!0

Hi we have just returned form all inclusive in turkey, you will need a new £10 note each for your entry visa into turkey. As for spending in resort it is very cheap. My advice is to take very little lire and take the rest in sterling as they will accept this or you can change a little at a time as required.
Do not buy food at Dalamam airport it is a very expensive airport one of the most expensive in the world.
Also be careful you do not exceed your luggage weight as they are very strict, and it is expensive per kilo if you are over weight.0 -
Thank you all

Take about £100 in tenners (and for visa its £10 per person not a £20 note for two as my FIL has just discovered ha) take about £50 exchanged into TLira small amounts for tips ice cream beers when your out. Also take a decent credit card just in case the all inclusive is carp and you want to eat out. Xchange is cheaper in most places around turkey where are you going to BTW . Turkey is a very beautiful country but huge. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
