NFF Survey: The Future of Accommodation for Service Families
Many thanks to everyone who completed our survey. The survey is now closed, however, if you have any comments that you would like to raise with the NFF please continue to e-mail: info@nff.org.uk.
We had a fantastic uptake with 2057 personnel and family members taking part. We know this subject is important to our families but we have been blown away by the response; we reached our target
number of responses within the first few weeks!
The survey ran from 10 June – 31 July 2011. Questions looked at the importance of home ownership, gathered attitudes towards Service Families Accommodation (SFA) and Single Living Accommodation (SLA), and enquired about the serving person’s commutes between work and home. The survey suggested fresh criteria for future accommodation policies, such as opening Service accommodation to unmarried partners and recognising the children of personnel who are over 18 years of age, and asked opinions on these notions.
We received some interesting and thoughtful feedback via e-mail and on the message boards. We welcomed additional comments as it makes the data we feed back to the MOD’s Future Accommodation
Project Team more meaningful. Many different points have been raised with some common viewpoints emerging.
We will pull the results of the survey into a report and send to the MOD’s Future Accommodation Project Team, as well as personnel within Navy Command and Government. The report will be available to view on our website (www.nff.org.uk) in early September.
The winner of the prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher, courtesy of Sodexo Defence, has been notified.
Many thanks again to all those who took the time to complete the survey.
