Ideas for a front cover to hide electric meter?

Meter is in an awkward place and now that we've ripped out the understairs cupboard, it's in full view and looks terrible.
It's tight against the side wall so can't get a ready made cabinet round it and will have to just frame it with a top and one side iyswim.
My big tools (table saw and other power stuff) have all gone to the new place so I need to do what I can with what I have here (screwdrivers mostly
).
I only need camouflage for now, so a length of cheapo melamine will do for the side and top but I'm not sure what to use to cover the front. I don't have time to mess around making doors, I just need a quick fix solution.
I did think about attaching a small blind to the underside of the top. Cheap, easy to do and allows access to the meter.
Any other ideas for very quick and easy, bearing in mind I'm short on tools and time just now?
It's only going to be my son that's looking at it for now. If/when we rent out, I'll get something more substantial sorted.

What about one of those storage boxes with a side cut off and lean it against, something like this http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/601803760

The area I need to cover is approx 90cm high x 80 cm across x 22cm deep, so too big for a box. Inventive idea though.Herman - MP for all!0
