VENT - 1st Class Heating MK

Hi All,

not been on this forum before, is I'm breaking any rules I do apologise. Wasnt sure if I was able to name the company but having read others posts I thought it ok.

I moved into my current house 5 years ago and have used the above company to service my boiler yearly. The company sticker was on the boiler when we moved in and as we were new to the area and didnt know any better we've kept on with them.

I recently took out Scottish Power Boiler Care, they came out today to give my boiler a service. The man opened the cupboard my combi is in and said he couldnt service it. When asked why he said that he couldnt reach the upper 3rd of the boiler as it is behind a wooden wall. When I asked why that was a problem as it had been serviced annually for the last 5 years he replied that whoever had done it had lied as it is a physical impossibilty to do the job properly.

He said we were at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and contamination of the drinking water supply due to an incorretly fitted circuit. I've now got to remove this part of my kitchen wall in order for the boiler to be properly serviced.

Am I wrong to vent? I'm not sure? In my mind it is unlikely that the man from Scottish Power is lying as I dont pay him a penny for his work, he is paid by the company.

Advice please?
