Saverstore - returning goods

I am trying to return 2 spotlight bulbs to Saverstore. These were ordered online & cost £13 each (being LED).Although described GU10 same as present bulbs, they do not fit into the light fitting. I've phoned up twice & been told to wait for an email with a returns number on it. Two days later - no email. Otherwise I can't return them. I'm anxious as it is still within the 7 day distance selling period. Should I reurn them as a registered parcel ? or what?
Any advice?

The Customer should obtain a Returns Authorisation number (RA Number) in order to return goods. The RA request must be completed online at https://www.saverstore.com. Only once the RA has been authorised, do we advise you to return goods. The RA number must be clearly marked on the outer packaging only and not on the manufacturer packaging. We do not refund for the cost of returning the items to us. If you are unable to obtain a returns reference number you should fill out a RA form from the customer account section, complete it fully and enclose it with your returned parcel.0

Don't worry to much about their procedures. The Distance Selling Regulations do not require that you return the items within the 7 days - they only require that you make known your intent to cancel and return the item in writing or "any other durable medium" within 7 days.
In your case I would write stating your intent and send the letter by registered post. Their returns procedure can take as long as they like, but they must still return your money within 30 days.0 -
My first post on here, arrived via a google looking for information about this particular internet firm.
I am very concerned about the practices of this outfit. I ordered a 23" lcd tv / monitor, money taken from card, all seemed ok. Didn't arrive when expected and upon enquiry was told the item was no longer in stock. I said I wanted to cancel the order, the guy said "I will find a replacement for you that we have in stock". Described an item as being an identical spec but it wasn't yet published on their site. I reluctantly agreed to the alternate item, never received order confirmation or any paperwork regarding the order. Next day a cheap 22" tv delivered direct from Misco turned up, nothing at all like the spec I ordered and £90 cheaper!!
So far have drawn a complete blank when attempting to get a returns number from their website as I paid through google checkout. Each time I call they say it can only be handled through website.
I would advise anyone to tread with extreme caution if thinking of using saverstore, customer service and integrity is not high on their list of attributes. Seems like their m. o. borders on fraudulent??0 -
Was told I would have returns number by Monday night. Gave up waiting & returned the bulbs by registerted post today (Tuseday 2nd Aug). (Still no email with number & it's Tuesday night)
Will keep MSE'ers informed as to progress.Nice to save.0 -
