With £30.86 to go since I last posted, today I sold an audio book for £9.72 after Amazon fees, I've caught the bus to work and walked home rather than getting a weekly tram ticket for the 3 days I was in this week, saving me £7.30, so is....*counts on fingers, gives up, uses calculator*...only £13.84 to go!!!

    £1181.00/£1194.84

Thanks so much Amara for co-ordinating this. I would never have focused enough to do this without this group!
Looking forward to the next challenge, where I shall attempt to use Ebay to clear stuff out of my house.
  • Hey Frodo,

Well done you on paying for those flights! The trip will be all that sweeter knowing you did it the debt-free way and good luck on your next challenge.

I can't wait until tomorow, OH and I are going to sit down and eliminate our very last credit card together - oh the joy of internet bankling ;)!

Well done Magpie23 that must be such a good feeling to get rid of your last credit card. I am a long way off from that but I refuse to use them anymore so they are gradually coming down.

Me and OH are adamant we will not get into any more debt to fund this trip, so for the next challange I will save for spends, and we will have to stay within that budget and tighten our belts. The trip is really all about spending time with my Dad but I'm sure we will do some nice things as well.

Congrats! That must be so exciting for you. :j
  • Hello everyone, well done to those who have met their targets and well done to those who are still trying - everything you can add helps so even if you don't meet your goal you're all still winners :)

I set myself a second optimistic goal of an additional £500 but I'm not going to meet that. I thought I might have a chance but I haven't been paid for some of the work I've done and have been left a litttle short this month. So I'm going to bank what I've managed to raise so far (about £260.30 if I remember correctly) and begin afresh on December 1st :)
    Thank you competition posters!

Hi, can i join this thread please? I have various cards to pay off totalling approx 11k:eek::o But as they all have different offer ending dates I'm going for the Virgin Atlantic Amex at 2037.00 which is due on January 9th. I have 1200.00 saved to throw at it so far and really need to re-educate myself as even though i'm naturally frugal, some tight spots over the last few years have seen me let the tight financial reign slip a :obit. But, I really want to take control of this now and am going to try and ebay stuff for the 1st time ever and see how I get on, as well as tighten the reigns even more.:D

Well done to everyone, your truly such an inspiration, as it's not easy!

£48 from me. I won't meet my target, sadly, but another challenge is starting soon.
