Where do you think you will go after the wedding? Back to yours? ;0)
Yes I think so, here or my OH's parents house. I'm doing things completely backwards. We're meeting up at the 'reception' venue at 1130 and doing a village fete feel luncheon and relaxed afternoon then ceremony at 4pm then we have some time at the ceremony venue for socialising and photos then home.
I couldn't get the ceremony any earlier so decided rather than lose the date, to just do it backwards. I loved the idea of having a joint 'send off' and we can then get changed into our wedding attire and get married. I get to relax in the evening with no formalities and the best bit is I get three dresses - pre-wedding, wedding and post-wedding YAY

We knew we wanted the zoo for ours but couldnt afford to have it for day and evening so we're decamping at 5.30 and heading to the local football club in my town for a party. It's about an hours drive from the zoo so we're putting a coach on for guests but it's still LOADS cheaper than if we'd had the evening do at the zoo too0

Like it!
I have been recommended a nice spa hotel near us, that we could stay in over night to treat ourselves. So I think we will go for a daytime event. Like others say, its our day & we should do what we want to do! xx:jFRUGAL WANNABE! SAVING FOR AUSTRALIA 2015!

Brilliant. All the people that i've spoken to really liked our idea as it's a relaxed atmosphere and lovely to share the excitement of the whole day with people. Your hotel sounds a cool idea.0

That sounds lovely. What a different idea!!0 -
One of my favourite ever weddings was like this. Registry office followed by lovely late lunch in local restaurant. Everyone then moved onto a local square that has lots of bars and sat in the sun drinking cocktails till closing time. It was helped that it was sunny, but they had a word with one of the bars they liked and they agreed to rope off an area so that everyone could sit together if it was rainy (no cost as they were guarenteed to be busy). It was really relaxed and there were no problems about people missing bits if they wanted/needed to leave early.0
