Very probably.
It had to happen eventually.
We may have staved of a global depression by throwing money at the problem...again.

I'd say the reason is because the money crisis isn't over, it's just been swept under the carpet while everyone tries to borrow from Peter to pay Paul who still owes Pat.
We have the benefit of being able to lower the £ meaning our exports are cheaper which should and has helped manufacturing. I think we're in for a very rough 5 years, with a serious readjustment in living standards in the UK and most of Europe. Capitalism just doesn't give the majority of people a good deal and exploits many at the expense of the elite few I feel. September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045
Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 20370 -

I expect they'll be more chilling news of crisis or very serious and frightening times ahead which may or may not include an abyss or meltdown of some sort.
I anticipate by 2012 we'll all be so desensitised to the daily threat of global armageddon, that when something truly shocking happens (Norway) the media will have run out of words.
