My wife has decided upon buying a new Toyota Yaris.

After much deliberating, research and test driving, this is a decision that has been made.

We have the cash to pay up front, but as usual get all the sales gubbins with finance and warranty deals etc.

Does anyone know what is the best way to get the best deal is? We don't need a finance package but there seems to almost be a disincentive to pay upfront.

Thanks!

Try the big online brokers like broadspeed, etc and see what they are doing them for, then ask your local dealer to pricematch. They will immediately say they dont pricematch internet prices but remind them that Broadspeed are part of the Inchcape group so you will be buying a UK car direct from the UK dealer.

If they wont play ball, simply buy from an online broker.

Which? magazine just reported £4000 savings on a new Yaris at Autoquake. This was in their "good Deals" section of their last weekly car news letter, I would join Which? if I were you.
They also pointed out there is a new Yaris coming out next year - very different from current model.
I would expect heavy discounting on the current model.
PS I think they are great cars.
    Nice to save.
  • I have used Carfile in the past and they are very friendly to deal with and all monies and dealing are direct with a main Toyota dealer .

    Ask for Jonathan

Which? are wrong, the Mk 3 Yaris is available this year, unless they meant the "hybrid" version due next year. Some weeks ago I had stuff from the dealer where I bought my Mk 2 touting for business. This advised order for delivery 1st September. https://www.toyota.co.uk/cgi-bin/toyota/bv/generic_editorial.jsp?navRoot=toyota_1024_root&noLeftMenu=true&edname=CC-Yaris-lite&id=CC-Yaris-lite&zone=Zone+Yaris-B&sr=Mall
Yes, no doubt there are some good deals to be had on the Mk 2 assuming there's surplus stock around.
PS., I think they are not so great cars!:)

Did Autoquake not recently go bust? Their website redirects to 'The Car Shop'

I tried this tactic at the weekend with two nissan dealers, I assumed they would discount and at least try and negotiate.

When i told them the online price from a broker, who I have spoken with twice now, and who are based 11 miles from work, they all shook their heads and said they couldnt do it.

As I was a bit nervous about brokers, I have now paid deposit on a nearly new, dealer mileage pre registered car for £4K less than list price, and £1.5K less than the broker price

    SORRY!!!

  • It seems car leasing and car finance are becoming the most popular ways for people looking to buy a new car. I think this is partly due to the current economic positions a lot of people seem to be in and to have the money available to buy a new car is becoming increasingly difficult for most people.

Also I feel that people these days like the idea of being able to change to a new car every 3 years or so and keep up to date with style, or another theory is that they are just too busy to maintain and look after thier car like we all used to.

New cars are not cheap. They never have been and never will be. So one thing I would reccomend is to not rush into buying the first one you see. Have a look around at prices and offers. Get advice, and don't feel pressured by salesman.

A good website to visit is Askaprice.com. They have joined up with hundreds of dealerships and large car manufacturers across the UK and have saved thousands of pounds for people looking to buy a new car.

The fact that you have the money ready is to your advantage and use it wisely. It is your hard earned money and you deserve to enjoy it without problems.

I hope your new purchase goes well.
