Santander Zero account interest rip off

I just upgraded my account with Santander to a zero account, and it is suppose to pay 5% interest, but they told me i would only get 1% because i upgraded my account and wasn't a new customer. Even though it says nowhere on the site that it excludes existing customers.

Even the woman in complaints didn't know why i wouldn't get 5% but yet couldn't do anything about it.

They should have explained to you that the 5% was withdrawn for upgrading Customers on the 28th of June.

The 0% FOREX still applies.

It's quite well hidden, but if you have a look HERE on page 4, it mentions that it's 5% introductory or 1% if an existing customer transferring.

Jez you weren't joking about it being well hidden. As a member of the banking code, it should be clear and transparent i.e on the website along with the big 5% advert, or at least in some kind of subtext.
