Sorry folks, we have had to take down the Forum Search function while we're working on the new server. We hope to have it back up before 6pm this evening.
Apologies for any inconvenience.

It still isn't working for me, it tells me I don't have permission to search - is there still a known problem or is something up with my account? Obviously it's well past 6pm yesterday so i'm wondering if i'm doing something thick!0

Thank goodness for that...I thought it was just me!Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -
Was working for me this morning but I have no search facility now. New Posts has disappeared and I have no permissions to see today's posts from Quick link.

thanx for that.was outta action all last wk ( NO mse for a whole wk) and i've been 'searching' the site for the past hr to see what had happened to the function-cos i gotta get some shopping done in the sales.0

Unfortunately, the only testing we can do is when the site is live and under load. Not our preferred way by any means but we do what we must.
We're testing a number of options and that will sometimes include removing the Search facility for awhile.
Thanks for bearing with us.

Hey Webby
I'm after a new TV but when I try to search I guess "TV" is too short for the search terms - any way round this? I tried typing "television" instead but don't find muchSeems a waste to start a new thread if it's already been answered

You can try using * as a wild card but it doesn't always work. Check out the board searches rather than the main search button as then it will only search that board rather than them all. Also try searching by a manufacturer like say Samsung or Sony.0

Thanks Edinburghlass  I've tried the * but it still plays up. I'm trying to use what I've got so far through the other terms though CRT is also under the 4 character limit :wall: which isn't very helpful... unless someone wants to sell me their old TV of course, which would alleviate this problem altogether0
