    How long for?
  • In England you are not supposed to leave the uk if you are on jobseekers allowance as you have to be available for work immediately if a job becomes available. But I dont know if Scottish rules are different regarding this though. It might be that you can go if you wont be away when you are supposed to sign on but I am not sure about that. At least you are trying to be 100% honest about it and trying to stick to the rules. most would just go and not say anything but this might be illegal so I am not advising you to do this!!!

If you go abroad, you have to sign off and make a rapid reclaim on your return as far as I know.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

It all depends on what benefit you're on. If its job seekers you have to cancel your claim I think and claim back quick when you come back. If its income support then you are allowed abroad. Hope this helps :)
