PPI claims currently with the Financial Ombudsman

Hiya - Does anybody know how long it should take to resolve a PPI claim once you have been allocated an Adjudicator from the Financial Ombudsman's office?
I supplied all the information they requested on 20th June 2011 but have not yet received an outcome and Im not sure how long I should wait before chasing them for a response.
(My initial claim with HSBC was lodged in August 2010 but put on hold white the case went to court. My complaint was picked up by the Omdudnmand office and allocated to an officer on 16th June 2011)

Hi Kelly
Have they sent a confirmation letter yet to say it's been received?
I think you should have had that by now, if you have not done so yet then give them a ring.
It's difficult to predict a timescale, because they have backlogs, in general it can take about 6 months for it to be allocated to an Adjudicator.
I would definately contact them though if you've not received a confirmation letter, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks Di!
Its been allocated to an Adjudicator and Ive given her everything she said she needs - she has had the case for about 6 weeks now but Im not sure how long it takes to be resolved once its been allocated to an Adjudicator?
- Im not sure how long to leave it before I chase her for feedback.

Hiya
Arh right, sorry missed that part above lol.
You can contact them at any-time to ask for an update, but sometimes this can take a good while, give them a ring anyway, hopefully they will have some news for you, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I think following the result of the JR, and the banks promises after it, there is a fair chance your adjudicator will be able to resolve your case informally with your bank without having to refer your case to ombudsman.
They do have a massive backlog though, my adjudicator was unable to resolve my case informally with my bank, and it's since been sitting in the queue for an ombudsman for over a year.
So be prepared for a long wait I'm afraid.:www: Progress Report :www:
