It appears to be only limited areas at the moment - Nottinghamshire, Leicester and Lincoln when I checked (which I think is fab as we NEVER seem to get anything first around here!).

Will be fantastic anyway - I always have to get stuff delivered by them anyway as my car is small and I'm not very strong ;) so to be able to get it straight off online without going to the store is great! I loathe going to Ikea stores...

I went into Ikea for the first time ever and that place for me is like heaven!!! Not only that how cheap was the food?:T The nearest to us is too far for us to take big things back home but if you order in store they will deliver to us for £90!!! Near had a shock but I suppose if you were buying a load anyway it would work out ok. I honestly couldn't stop gawping at all the stuff.
The kids beds were to die for, the kitchens were gorgeous, the furniture was fab OMG I LUV THE PLACE!!!
We are going via Edinburgh for a holiday and we aren't taking much stuff just so we can fill the boot of the car with Ikea things!!!:rotfl:

  • I thought it was just men! I LOVE IKEA. Unfortunately I don't drive so my husband always has to drive me an hour to the nearest store. Got a house full of ikea stuff now, but live in Nottinghamshire so would definitely take advantage of the home delivery if i need anything else big. (although my house is packed to the rafters with their stuff)
    now mum of 4!!!
  • What a nightmare Ikea home delivery is... just moved into new flat in Nottingham, so ordered bed, matress, wardrobe etc... Out of the six items, three have to be sent back. Boxes all fine, poor workmanship inside the box is the problem.

Having paid £55 for delivery, and waited 2 weeks... spoke to them this morning and they can't re-deliver/collect for another 2 weeks.

I'm thinking of telling them to take the lot back and buying from elsewhere.
    something missing
  • Those problems are not down to the home delivery. I have lost count of the number of times I have had to take stuff (big stuff) back because the goods inside were damaged.

We went through a phase of getting loads of black/brown shelving and of course any marks or chips really show up on them.

Of course for somebody like me who is wanting to buy a room divider it is a lot cheaper than hiring a van
