I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong - others on here are closer to this than me.
I think the warm homes discount is not tariff dependent - that is you can choose the best tariff, and still get the £120 credit.

British Gas has closed its essentials (social) tariff to new applicants in preparation for the Warm Homes Discount
