Change or not
Hi,
I am with Southern Electric at the moment and am not signed into anything so could change without a cost. Looking at the comparison sites they is an EDF price fixed till 2014 dual fuel deal that at this time is saying I would be approx £49 better off.
Would it be worth taking this deal or staying as I am I have not been on a fixed deal before. I am worried about the costs of my bills going up as money is already tight.
Any help or advice would be great to try and help me with this as I am not up on all this sort of thing.

You are presumably on SSE Standard tariff-the most expensive. Unless you think SSE prices are going to fall, then a fix is really a no-brainer.
Your other fix option is EDF Fixed Saver v2-fixed to 9/12.
if you want the guarantee that your bills will not go up, then a fix is right for you.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi,
Thank you for replying I am on SE better plan with no standing charge, would this deal with EDF still be better than that?
Could you tell me if I am looking at this right.
I have put in my yearly usage and the result shows that I would save Approx £49. I take it that the £49 is a saving on the usage and price I am on with SE at the moment. So if prices went up I could possibly save more, as by my thinking prices are not going to go down. So even without any price rise I would still be the £49 up plus the money back from using a cashback site.
Sorry just trying to make sure I am getting the details right before I change as there is charges to move again if I have got this wrong. Thanks for any help and advice given

If that's what the comp sites says, then yes.
The standing charge is not relevant- the comp sites present the total cost regardless of SC's, discounts etc.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

and one other thing about the current Edf "fixes". They are based on "pre-increase pricing" and will not be around for much longer, so if that is the one for you, get moving.0
