I bid and won an item on ebay, I recieved it to find extreme damage to a couple of bits in the set and wrote telling the person this! I got the following reply:
Hi
What can I say, I really had no idea of the damage but you'd hardly tell me if there wasn't any. What do you want to do?
Katie
I can't tell whether she is being sarky or not! .....I have just thrashed my body at the gym so am a bit tired so don't shout at me if I am being silly! just some advise on how to reply please
I wanted to keep the set but don't want to have paid so much as it is damaged!

Angel, Don't bother trying to get a partial refund, just ask outright for a full refund if you return the item.
Did you pay by paypal? If so you do have the opportunity of claiming item not as described and trying to claim your money back that way.
I'm not sure the seller was being sarky, she just sounds rather dim to me....
Good luck

i didnt read the note as sarky at all
think what she is trying to say is that she just didnt know there was any damage
and IMO she meant to say that obviously the item is damaged otherwise you wouldnt have contacted her... and she wants to know what you want to do about it?
sounds like a pretty friendly mail to me - but i tend to see the good in everyone - until they prove otherwise..

Maybe she is elderly and really does need glasses

If you do want to keep the set as it is I don't see a problem with asking for a partial refund - if she's not happy with that then you can return it for a full refund. I'm sure she'd rather keep the sale at a reduced cost though.0
