Yes, depend on what card type it is and if they are truly doing a CPA by following card rules or are incorrectly retaining card details and putting each one through a CNP merchant account as one off transactions rather than reoccurring transactions.

Either way, they would not explain a DD being set up on an account as a CPA payment from the account holders perspective simply looks like a card transaction, only by checking the merchant ID would you be able to confirm that it was a CPA payment.
