Hi guys, I have trailed through threads to see if this question is anywhere else to no avail, and if this should be somewhere else please put it there, but I want to get a sky + box, I am happy to pay for it as I dont want to rent it from sky, we currently have the full package except for sports and pay £35 per month does anyone know if we would have to pay anymore on our subscription as I cant find it on the sky website.

Hi, we have sky+ without movies or sport and pay £38 p/month I think it is down to what you can work out with the guy / gal on the phone at Sky

Couldn't find your £35 package on the Sky costs page.

Sky+ won't cost any more for you as you have one premium mix. They charge you £10/month extra if you have no premium mixes.

Remember that you need to have an LMB on your dish with 2 outputs so the Sky+ box can record 2 different channels.

Edit - If you're out of your years contract, you should be able to get a Sky+ box for around £50 including installation if you threaten to leave, saying you're planning on going to cable or freeview.

I have just got through to sky and as we pay for movies we would only have to pay for the box and no more per month, but they are doing an offer at the moment get a free + box when you recommend a friend and I was going to do that anyway....kerching, you may want to call them as you could be getting the movies for a couple more pounds, be sure to call on 0800 051 2595.

We actually bought it about 6 months after it came out and asked if there were any deals to be had. we ended up with a reconditioned box and had to have sky upstairs for a year minimum as well. (the recon box still came with a years guarantee so we didn't mind)
we then cancelled the upstairs sky after the year and it still worked out cheaper then buying the sky+ from new.
If you ask them if they can do any deals for you they will always do something for you, remember they want your custom!!! don't be afraid to say that you will think about it and um and ahh over it because they will do almost anything to get the sale.

If you go with Sky they'll install a new LMB anyway. Whatever they offer you, make sure they don't try it on with an install price.

You should get that done for free.

Edit - I got my Sky+ box when it was still £200 plus £60 install.
I got it for £99 including install. As the box is only £99 now, you should be looking to half that, including install.
