I got a SORN notice through, on the form it says I must include my V5 form. Does this mean they'll take it from me and Ill have to pay another fee to get it back when I want to put the van on the road?

No they will send you back a new one showing it as sorned. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Is that a new thing? Whenever I have declared sorn, I just tick the Sorn box on the tax reminder letter, send it back and get a confirmation the vehicle is sorned for a year.0

I SORNed mine online on 1st July, the acknowledgement they sent me doesn't say anything about sending in the V5
It says you can tax it using the V5C and also SORN will end if you use the V5C to tell them you have sold or permanently scrapped the vehicle.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Is it asking for the V5 to replace it with a V5C? I know that all V5 certificates should have been replaced by now, but if your car has been off the road for some time it may have been missed by the DVLA.0
