car using water

It's leaking !
Either hoses or radiator leaking. If no leaks obvious, then the compression is leaking into the water jacket on the cylinder head, and being turned to steam to go out the exhaust. The car would run like a dog if this were the case though.
Everybody has got the tools to check for leaks, they're called eyes.0 -

there is no leaks and no staem out of the exhaust0 -
It's leaking water. Start it up, wait for the engine to get warm, then have a look under the car and see if you can spot the leak. If you can't, take it to your local garage and they will pressure test it to find the leak. The fault could be anything from a simple loose pipe to a leaking radiator or at the worst a blown head gasket. Until you know where the water is going, you won't know what the problem is.0

In that case, the engine is running too hot, overpressurising the water system, and it's going out the radiator overflow whilst you drive.
Or, if a pressure regulating radiator cap, then it's faulty, and allowing normal water pressure to escape. Again, out of the radiator overflow.0 -
maybe you have a thirsty camel living up a wheel arch0

How many miles do you drive a week and is it a motorway drive. I do 140 miles a day on the motorway and i have noticed that during the dry season - I have top up the water thing at least once every weekI owe £3233 @ 0%0

I do 40 miles a day
Ok 1 and half water a week for 200 miles seem excessive unless you are forever in traffic with extermely hot weather. I would check the engine oil via the dip stick or cover - to check whether you can see any sign brownish liquid _ brownish colour liquid may indicate signs of water in the engine.I owe £3233 @ 0%0 -
Check under the oil filler cap for any sign of 'mayonnaise'."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
