Dubai and then on to where? Suggestions needed...

Hi all,

Looking for some inspiration! I'm trying to find a holiday but everything seems to be very expensive for a package so I thought maybe I could do a DIY package.

I've seen flights from Manchester to Dubai with Emirates and then on to the Maldives or Sri Lanka then back to Manchester are around £640 each (there are 2 of us) going out on 10th September and returning on 24th September.

Hotels in Maldives seem expensive so maybe Sri Lanka is a better choice? Probably want to keep the budget for hotels around the same as the flights (each)

Or are there any other suggestions? Very open to ideas though would prefer to go to a destination then try a few locations when we're there.

A bit open ended (sorry) but need some inspiration as we're running out of time :(

We did Sri Lanka, then Maldives, then Dubai a few years ago using Emirates flights, but you could do Sri Lanka tour, Sri Lanka beach, and Dubai.
Or you could do Thailand ie Bangkok, and Hua Hin, (or internal flight to Phuket) and then back via Dubai - much cheaper for hotels and food etc.
I dont know if you have a hotel sorted for Dubai but an excellent hotel near the airport is Le Meridien.

Just noted when you are going - it could be rainy in Phuket, and Sri Lanka, and its very hot/humid in Dubai in September

Thanks everyone. Now trying to get the finer details sorted we were thinking of flying to Dubai and spending Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights there. Then on to Sri Lanka or Malaysia. That gives 11 days in either of those destinations then we can fly home with a changeover at Dubai.

We'd like to do a tour but don't really fancy driving. Any recommendations for either place? Probably 7 days of going to see sights and the other days relaxing somewhere, beach or whatever.

    Thanks!
