Apart from yours which has received no maintenance in 2 years.
Stick with petrol, try to run a Diesel on neglect (unless running a Transit) then you'll come unstuck in a spectacularly expensive fashion.0 -
Low mileage, mostly around town, is not good for a diesel with a DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter. It will become clogged and could be expensive to sort. They need a run above 40mph for 15-20 minutes or so to regenerate.
The maths say stick with your current car at the sort of annual mileage you are doing.0 -
Then you remove the DPF (a very common practice for diesel owners as they are not a legal requirement), block-off the EGR then marvel at the fact you are now getting an extra 5 - 10 mpg.
Btw, the V70 uses the Ford C-System chassis the same as the Focus and Mondeo.
The diesel engine used in the V70 is indeed the VW/Audi D5 unit. It works a treat on veggie-oil (50-50 mix to be safe, but will run 100% with a few minor mods).Never Knowingly Understood.
